Home measuring service Measuring for curtains and blinds can be tricky and some customers would rather we came to their home to measure up than do it themselves. This is particularly the case for customers whose homes have uneven walls, floors or ceilings. For our flat charge of £80* the customer obtains the following: - Measuring of as many windows as are required - Practical advice concerning the feasibility of different window dressings (poles vs. tracks, curtains vs. blinds, pelmets etc.) for different windows - Any additional advice requested – including aesthetic suggestions as to fabrics and colour palettes Pre'booked customer consultations at Stanway We advise & consult with our customers on their interiors projects as a matter of course. However, the benefit of our pre-booked shop consultation is that the customer is guaranteed a minimum of one hour with a staff member - more if possible - and avoids the risk of having to wait as can sometimes happen in busy periods. Consultations can be booked for 10am on any weekday and are free. Curtain making We are often congratulated on the quality of our curtainmakers' work. There are very, very few curtainmakers whose work we believe to be consistently excellent - these are the only ones we use. There are options for all budgets - from simple machined 'shoestring' curtains to handmade & interlined ones. We also make pelmets, valances, blinds, bedspreads, tablecloths etc. Just visit us or phone us for a quote. Fitting, hanging and dressing As with measuring, fitting poles and tracks can be tricky and some customers prefer someone else to do it for them. We offer two fitting, hanging and dressing services: 1. Through Stanway: we liaise with our fitter on your behalf, minimising the risk of errors. If an error is made (unlikely, but possible), it is our responsibility to put it right. Our charge for this service is: £50* for the first hour or part thereof, £30 per hour or part thereafter (charged from arrival at your property to departure). 2. Direct: we provide you with the contact details of our fitter and you liaise with him directly. His charge for this service is £50* for the first hour or part thereof, £18 per hour or part thereafter (charged from arrival at your property to departure). You will need to specify exactly what you need him to do as this service is for people who want to do their own project managing but have an aversion to handling drills! Re-Upholstery We are the only interiors company in Shropshire with an on-site upholsterer, where you can co-ordinate your curtains and upholstery under one roof. With your piece of furniture on site, you can see exactly which fabrics work and which don't, and any queries can be put to the upholsterer there and then. We can also provide loose covers. Andrzej's work is so impeccable that it can be seen in National Trust houses around Shropshire, Wales and the West Midlands. If you'd like us to give you a quote for your re-upholstery, just bring your item into the shop, or, if it's bulky, take a photo of it and bring it with you. Alternatively, if we are due to come to your house for home measuring, we can have a look at your furniture piece then. We can pick up and deliver your furniture if you'd like us to - our charges for delivery are as follows: 1 man collection & delivery within 22 miles of Stanway is £30 2 man collection & delivery within 22 miles of Stanway is £50 See asterisk* below for distances beyond 22 miles Approval service The only restriction to our approval service is the size of your car! We actively encourage customers to take interiors items and fabric rolls on approval as it helps enormously to see prospective purchases in situ. This service is free. *For any home visit (measuring, fitting, hanging, dressing, collection or delivery of furniture) made by us to properties beyond a 22 mile radius from Stanway, we charge in addition to the fees above 40p per mile and £15 per hour or part thereof spent travelling. Our fitter makes identical additions to his fees.
